Your role

  • Host curriculum and this playbook (Railway Pro is perfect for that).
  • Run parent briefing, teen setup night, and ship night.
  • Point teens at youth-portfolio-starter — you do not deploy for them.
  • Keep student documents with their own parents.
Parent night — 30 minutes
  1. 0–5 min: Goal — live teen sites on Cloudflare, $0 default path.
  2. 5–12 min: Age 13+, parent owns billing, no cards on kid accounts.
  3. 12–20 min: Ontario Student Pack proof (board email or dated ID / report card).
  4. 20–25 min: What you host vs what they host.
  5. 25–30 min: Hand out checklist; book setup night.
Setup night — 90 minutes
  1. 0–10 min: Laptops on; open playbook + checklist.
  2. 10–35 min: Email, GitHub, Student Pack submit.
  3. 35–55 min: Cursor Hobby + Cloudflare Free.
  4. 55–80 min: Copy portfolio starter; first local edit.
  5. 80–90 min: Homework — finish Pages deploy before ship night.
Ship night — 60 minutes
  1. 0–15 min: Troubleshoot deploys.
  2. 15–45 min: Each teen demos their Cloudflare URL (2–3 min).
  3. 45–60 min: Pick week-2 idea from Path; point families at Skills.
Cohort 0 rollout
  1. Pilot: Your own teens complete Week 1.
  2. Invite: Share the public URL with 2–3 Ontario families.
  3. Run: One setup night using the agenda above.
  4. Rhythm: Monthly demo — live Cloudflare URLs only.

What you host vs what they host

  • You: this guide, curriculum, public starter template.
  • They: their GitHub repos, Cloudflare Pages projects, optional parent Railway Hobby apps.
